I have a complete black thumb. It’s a constant joke within my family that the only thing I can keep alive is my aloe plant. A friend gave me a vine type house plant about a year ago and I swore I would keep it alive. My mom has said multiple times it’s almost impossible to kill (I have killed one before though), it’s still alive! Barely. . .but only because my roomba pulled it down and around the house one day. I don’t know that I can be completely held accountable for what my roomba did! There was dirt everywhere! It was like a plant murder scene!
Anyway, I have tried a vegetable garden a couple times and never had anything survive. NEVER! The rabbits, the bugs, or me forgetting to water in the Oklahoma heat, has always gotten the better of the garden. I did successfully keep a jalapeƱo plant alive once, but I think it was a fluke or maybe they like to be ignored? Hard to tell. LOL.
Well with everything going on in today’s world, I finally convinced Micheal to let me get a Tower Garden, provided he helped me, I figured this would be more fool proof. We bought it last spring (2020) and he does help, he adds the nutrients and checks the PH. I prune and “talk” to the plants. It’s working!!

Grow healthy, delicious herbs and veggies inside from the comfort of your couch. Perfectly sized for any apartment or house the NEW Tower Garden HOME comes with everything you need to get started growing today!
This spring/summer I had basil galore, probably about 20 tomatoes on one plant and they kept coming as I picked them! The small tomato plants did way better than I ever expected. The larger tomato plants had maybe 2 tomatoes so I will stick with small ones from here on out. We have eaten microgreens until our hearts are content and a little spinach. Many of my plants, we started harvesting within a month of planting. This system keeps plants thriving and producing much faster than a traditional garden.
This fall, I cleaned everything out when they stopped producing and order seedlings. I kept the rosemary and one basil plant from the last go around and they are still producing and it is now Jan. 2021. It is so cool that it’s freezing and even occasionally snowing and my tower garden is sitting in the kitchen growing my produce!
So here are the facts:
- It does take a little work but I would rather the work it takes over weed pulling in the heat of the summer any day. Plus winter growing is just fun!
- There are two types of towers, one comes with lights and is better suited for inside because it’s smaller. Its called the Home. The other has a bigger base so can’t be blown over easily and doesn’t come with lights. It’s called the Flex. You can buy lights to add the flex so that you can move it inside though.
- You have to maintain a good PH, the system comes with everything to help you do that.
- You have to keep it full of water. Interestingly enough I think winter is using more water than summer did in mine. You do wait until its about half empty to refill so its not a constant job.
- It comes with a timer for lights and water so you don’t have to think about that anymore, just set it and forget it!
- There are grow minerals that come with the system and you can order more whenever you need. I still haven’t run out of my initial set of minerals and we are easily 8 months in.
Questions? Just let me know! I am happy to share my knowledge or lead you in the direction of someone who knows more than I do! The website gives you lots of information too and yes I do receive funds for referring you as I am an active distributer for the company and have been for years but this is my first time owning one of our Towers and I LOVE IT! Nothing is fool-proof and plants need love but the Tower Garden makes it easy to love gardening!
