We tried Amazon Photos because we have a ton of photos. After uploading, I can give you a number: 46,000 pictures. They were spread out across our computer and all our iPhones.
The thought of losing them is not something we want to deal with. I used to gather all the photos from our phones about once a year and back them up at home. That's not bad, but my backups were all in one place, and I didn't want to pay for an online backup service.
That's where Amazon Photos came in. Why? Because we have Amazon Prime, and it's included. That's right: unlimited full-resolution photo storage, free with Prime. The free iPhone app uploads photos automatically as soon as you take them.
Videos are limited to 5 GB on the free plan, but we keep our videos somewhere else, so it works great for us. Plus, Amazon Photos reminds you what you were doing years ago, like Facebook memories but with photos you never posted.
